skoool.ie is Top of the Class!

skoool.ie is top of the class having scooped up two awards at the first ever O2 Digital Media Awards.

Against very strong competition, skoool.ie received the awards for Best Online Content and Best Specialist Broadband Content.

The Best Online Content award recognises,  the vast resource of highly informative interactive content on the site for second- level students, teachers and parents; Best Specialist Broadband Content was awarded to skoool.ie for making sense of the broadband era by creating specialist interactive content which exploits all the capabilities of this bandwidth in an educational context.

In addition, skoool.ie was nominated in the category of Best Digital Media Innovation (Consumer).

The main objectives of the awards are to showcase the greatest achievements in the emerging digital media industry in Ireland, to promote the richness and excellence in the digital media creation, to create a platform for companies to show their achievements on a national stage and in a global environment and to identify the innovators in our industry.

The event took place at the O’Reilly Hall UCD on January 23rd.  Twenty categories of awards were presented with the judging panel choosing from a shortlist of an average of five nominees in each category.

skoool.ie was also voted the Best Website at the 2002 ESAT BT Golden Spider Awards last September and was nominated in the category for Best Community or Special Interest Website.
